Cindi’s Description of the Lunch her Granny Made.

• June 3rd, 2010

We read "When Granny Made My Lunch," by Bobbi Katz, in which the poet vividly describes the scents, appearance and taste of her lunch as well as how she feels about bringing a lunch so different from the other children's lunches.  We talked about how the poet's granny's love, culture and history were manifested in what she packed in her granddaughter's lunch.  Then we were inspired to write about what we would take for lunch and how we would feel if our grannies made our lunches.  Here Cindi, gives us a wonderful description of the lunch, what it represents and the mixed feelings she has about it.
